Head of School
Following Head of School Patty Eggerding’s announcement that she will retire at the end of June 2026 after 14 years of dedicated leadership, the WSMS Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Greta Collins as the next Head of School.
After a comprehensive search process that included on-campus finalist interviews, the WSMS Search Committee recommended Greta to the Board, which unanimously approved her appointment. The committee recognized in Greta a leader who embodies the spirit, values, and mission of WSMS and who is uniquely positioned to support our guides, staff, students, and families while thoughtfully leading the school into its next chapter.
Greta Collins is excited to lead our school starting in June 2026 and continue her dedication to the WSMS community’s growth and success:
“It is an honor and a privilege to step into the role of Head of School here at West Suburban Montessori. As many of you know, this school has been my professional home for over six years now, and I continue to feel the magic of this place every time I walk through the front doors, even this many years later. WSMS is a unique and beautiful place where thoughtful, dedicated adults prepare environments with great care, where children are known and respected, and where families partner closely with guides and staff. It is especially meaningful to now serve this community in a new way, and I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me. I look forward to continuing to work together in service of all children, and to uphold our AMI Montessori mission to ignite each child's natural curiosity for learning with love, respect, care, and kindness.”
